Your Health Matters roadshows
The Irish Cancer Society's community outreach initiatives in areas of most disadvantage across the country. The ‘Your Health Matters Roadshow’, which tours shopping centres and public events around Ireland, is a nurse-led service offering lifestyle advice and free confidential health checks.
If cancer is diagnosed early, it’s usually much easier to treat.
Our ‘Your Health Matters’ Roadshow can help:
- Find out more about how to spot the early signs of cancer, how to prevent cancer and learn about free cancer screening available in Ireland.
- Talk to one of our cancer nurses, who can answer your questions and talk to you about any worries you have.
- Have a free 15-minute health check, which includes blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) checks and a carbon monoxide (CO) reading. Our nurses can arrange a referral to a GP if further help is needed.

In 2024, there were 1,950 health checks carried out at our roadshows

More information
We provide community outreach initiatives in areas of most disadvantage across the country. The ‘Your Health Matters Roadshow’, which tours shopping centres and public events around Ireland, is a nurse-led service offering lifestyle advice and free confidential health checks. The service improves people’s awareness of cancer signs, highlights the importance of screening and early detection, and encourages positive lifestyle changes.
We also work in partnership with Safetynet Primary Care, which offers healthcare for marginalised populations at the Capuchin Day Centre, a homeless service in Dublin city centre. Our nurses work to ensure that people with symptoms are encouraged to present earlier for cancer tests. This can lead to earlier diagnoses and benefit patient outcomes, improving survival rates and quality of life.
